Accounting Assistant essential functions are as follows:
Process Accounts Payable transactions including verifying invoices, recording those invoices into a computerized Accounting system, selection transactions for payment, and producing checks to make those payments.
Process payroll transactions including recording time sheets, matching electronic timecards to supervisor’s summary sheets of hours, verify hours and other data to items recorded in a computerized payroll program, processing payroll for direct deposit or checks for employees, and providing related payroll reports for organizations Chief Financial Officer. Candidate should also have a working knowledge of related payroll taxes.
Candidate should have a working knowledge of MS Office as well as experience with a higher-level computerized Accounting software.
Candidate should be able to work in a team environment, be detail orientated, and maintain effective communication with co-workers.
Other duties as assigned (i.e.: Accounts Receivables and/or Inventory Control)
In order to qualify for this position, you will have:
High School diploma or equivalent and one to three years’ experience in Clerical Accounting required
An Associates Degree in Accounting or related field will be considered an advantage.
Previous experience in billing, finance, or other related fields
Experience in data entry
Knowledge of standard accounting procedures
Ability to prioritize and multitask
The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
