Job Description:
Apply prepared paints, i.e. Industrial enamel to products and components where quality finishes are required.
Essential Functions
Reads and interprets shop orders and from listed paint code determines what color paint is to be used.
Mix paint with SOL vents to achieve the proper viscosity for spraying.
Adjust the spray gun to obtain the required finish, coverage, and economy.
Fill paint sprayer pot as required.
Start fans and/or ventilating equipment to remove fumes and paint fog.
Visually inspect products for proper surface preparation, i.e. remove dust, rust, dirt, grease, and oil as required using solvents and wire brush.
Touch up product as required.
Wear and maintain proper personal protective equipment, i.e. gloves, goggles, glasses, respirators and aprons.
Clean, and maintain paint spray booth changing filters as required.
Load and unload parts and components as required using a hoist and fork truck.
Notifies supervisor or coordinator of any unusual conditions, breakdowns and material and supply shortages.
Meets acceptable time/work standards.
Keeps immediate work area clean and orderly.
Works in accordance with established safety policies.
